QUEMAR Bud Vase in Natural Unglazed
The QUEMAR Bud Vase is handcrafted by an award-winning master artisan, who has been producing custom pottery works for over 37 years.
The vases are modelled after a type of Mexican gourd – known locally as 'bule'. Due to its unglazed nature, they will filter water and ‘sweat’ moisture, with the exterior eventually developing a lovely patina.
Recommended to pair with one of the QUEMAR Plates to protect surfaces.
Materials: Natural clay.
Dimensions: Vase measures 12cm x 14cm. Plate measures 14cm x 14cm.
Due to the nature of smoked pottery, the colour and finish of each piece is different.
Due to its porous nature, the unglazed clay will 'sweat' moisture. We advise you to put a protective plate underneath this piece, if it will be filled with standing water.
Wash with water, mild soap and a scrub brush. Don't put in the dishwasher.

This award-winning artisan has been producing custom works for over 37 years. While her mother showed her the basics or working with clay, she is self-taught, and divides her time between creating her masterpieces and teaching art at a local school. These pottery works are a crucial element to the local culture in her community and have been made in the region for thousands of years. Every piece is created with local clay, then slowly pit-fired over the span of six hours - a process that results in durable, elegant works that are supreme examples of Mexican artistry.
