Quail Brooch Set in Bamiyan Turquoise
Elegant brooches formed with the outlines of the quail in sterling silver, and in-laid with Bamiyan Turquoise. Sold as a set of matching brooches.
Designed in the shape of the quail - an Afghan bird that is considered a symbol of good luck and fortune. Keeping quails is a tradition that stretched back thousands of years ago, and traditionally considered part of Pashtun culture. In fact, it is a favourite for the people of Kandahar, where it is known as Karak bazi.
