Oaxaca, Mexico
The CARRIZO Handmade Drinking Straws are handcrafted by a group of artisans in Oaxaca, as part of a socially-focused fair-trade project. These straws are made from the abundant river reed Carrizo. The pieces are gathered, cut and cleaned, before being wrapped in a piece of corn husk and tied with a cotton string. This project pays a fair wage to collaborators and ensures that the production of these straws is done sustainably in local Carrizo fields.
