Golden Amal Tee - White
Hand stitched with golden threads, 'amal' means 'hope' in Syrian Arabic. The script is stylised as a visual reminder of better things to come.
A symbol of positivity; that despite the challenges that our Syrian women artisans face, there is hope in the future for them and their families.

#KnowYourArtisan
Chatila Refugee Camp, Lebanon
The embroidery is handcrafted by a Syrian women refugee. Many Syrian women grew up learning how to craft, embroider and knit - precious skills that were passed down from their mothers and grandmothers back home. Our artisan partners often reminisce of the beautiful scents of jasmine found back in their hometown: in the corner of every Aleppo street, every courtyard, and every home. The Threads of Syria project was launched with our ground partner Tight-Knit Syria.
